What You Can Do When You Find Yourself in A Dental Emergency and Seeking Treatment in Highland, MI

Experiencing a dental emergency can be an incredibly scary and stressful situation. Now add to that situation the fact that you do not know what to do or who to call. Your dentist is open 8 to 5 on the weekdays only and it is Saturday evening. Do you go to the emergency room? Do you just see if you can wait until Monday morning? Is what you are currently experiencing even an actual dental emergency? Have you ever thought to yourself “Where can I find an emergency dental office near me?” So many questions and so much anxiety. Do not let this be your situation. If you are in the Highland, MI area, look no further than Dr. Jill Seguin and her team at Milford Dental. Dr. Seguin provides emergency dental treatments so that you know you always have somebody to call.

What to do in a dental emergency

If you find yourself in a situation that is considered a dental emergency, the first thing you can do for yourself is to not panic. Take a deep breath and call into Milford Dental so that you can schedule an emergency appointment. Once an appointment is made, if you have knocked out a tooth or there are broken pieces, take them and rinse gently in water at room temperature. If the entire tooth has been knocked out, make sure and handle it only by the crown. Do not handle by the root as this could harm the tooth itself. Attempt to reinsert the tooth into the socket if possible and, if not, place it in a sterile container that has been filled with milk and get it to Dr. Seguin as quickly as possible. If you have swelling, place an ice pack on it externally and apply pressure to any oral wounds with sterile gauze if needed.
