Hygiene and disinfecting protocols at Milford Dental Care during COVID19

Milford Dental Care has established an infection control plan that places all our patients and team member’s health and safety first. We have compiled all the required guidance and regulations from the CDC and OSHA to assemble the MDC COVID19 assurance protocol.

When you arrive at our office, you will find that we have implemented a curbside reception check-in. Please text or call our office to let us know that you have arrived. Before entering our office, you will have to complete a wellness form that screens for the most common COVID19 symptoms.

Once that is completed, you will enter our office through the west door. As you head towards our office, you will be greeted by one of our team members. Please make sure you are wearing a face-covering that is both over your nose and your mouth. All our team members will be wearing additional PPE, which includes a scrub cap and a gown.

The most notable change that you will see in our office is the installation of a plastic barrier from the floor to the ceiling with zipper doors to enter into each room.

Once in the office, we will take your temperature with a non-contact thermometer. You will be asked to choose from a selection of mouth rinses to reduce the number of bacteria and viruses in your mouth. You will then be guided into the treatment room, where you will be asked to wash your hands for the recommended 20 seconds.

For additional information, give us a call or visit our website.

Here’s what you can continue to expect from us:

  • We are currently offering these comfort amenities: lip balm, lavender towels, chair massage, iPod and Bose noise-canceling headphones, additional neck and back support pillows and nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
  • We are still offering the cookies that some many patients look forward to. However, you will have to bake them in the comfort of your home. Ask any team member and we will gladly give you a care package to take with you.
  • Hand hygiene (proper handwashing technique or alcohol-based hand sanitizer)
  • We’ve always worn personal protective equipment with single use gloves and masks for each patient
  • We have always disinfected each room after every patient with FDA approved/hospital grade disinfectant.
  • We sterilize all instruments after every patient
  • We use single-use-items, such as suction tips, air/water syringe tips, prophy angles, etc.

Communication is very important.  We are only a call, text or email away.

Please bear with us as we transition into our new normal. Here’s where we need your help:

  • Face coverings required for anyone entering the office.
  • Please limit family members who don’t have an appointment. This helps us minimize the amount of people entering the office and comply with physical distancing requirements.
  • If a companion is required, they will need to go through the wellness screening as well as the patient.
  • You will be asked twice regarding your current health status. Once prior to appointment and once again day of treatment. Wellness Screening Form will be Text or Emailed and need to be completed to honor your appointment.
  • Curbside Reception will include: Completion of your Wellness Screening, Call/Text when you arrive, remain in your car until we contact you that we’re ready for you.
  • We will now ask our patients to use the west door entrance with the ramp. Not the front door
  • To maintain physical distancing, we are requiring non-contact pre-payment of your investment prior to your appointment. For your convenience, we will send you a secure link to pay in advance.
  • Upon entry into the office, please allow us to take your temperature. We will provide you with a mouth rinse that will reduce the number of bacteria and viruses in your mouth. Once you’ve entered the treatment room, we will ask you to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.
  • Please dress in additional layers and/or bring your own blanket. With the additional PPE (personal protective equipment) we will be wearing; the office will be kept at a cooler temperature. It gets pretty hot under all of it!
